Treasure Hunt

Mom set up a treasure hunt for my niece. She wrote about it on her blog, but asked me to post the pictures on mine (seems like she should have just given me the password to her blog ;)

Clue #1

Clue #2

Out to the chicken coop for the next clue. Zoe and my second niece helped too.

Then to the old calf barn

Next the tractor
There's Zoe again - she's just so helpful.

Then to the mailbox where she finally found the treasure - two pieces of candy.

Beauty & The Beasts

My Niece's Photgraphy

After church on Sunday, I and my two nieces were playing in the back of Dad's pick-up. I was letting my oldest niece play with my camera (it's shock proof, you know), and she took some pretty good shots. In fact I was a little bit jealous! Look at how Dad and Sara are grinning. They don't grin like that when I'm taking their picture. My niece has a gift ;)
She also took a picture of my younger niece's backside - GB#2 had the whole plumber thing going on. It was a really funny shot! I was tempted to post it, but I knew my two-year old niece would be absolutely mortified if I did ;)

Here's MANtage. You're Welcome!

Okay, so this video is really stupid, and it does have some potty words in it that I forgot about.

A friend of a friend that didn't know us very well was videoing the wedding this weekend. He even videoed all us bridesmaids posing for traditional pictures. Anyway, at one point Lindsay asked him to focus the camera in on her, then she yelled, "I'm out" and she ducked out of the view. Then she yelled, "I'm back!" and popped back up into view. The camera man burst out laughing and said, "I totally didn't see that coming!" Obviously, he had never seen Mantage. Enjoy!

Candid Wedding Shots

Ever wonder what the bride is doing minutes before she's about to walk down the isle? Lindsay was striking silly poses and cracking us up with imitations from Mantage (I'll post the youtube link tonight - not of Lindsay but of Mantage).

Pre-Wedding Rituals

All of us girls got our nails done the day before the wedding - Shay got a MANicure.

Hours before the wedding Lindz, Rea, Kat, and I went and had our hair done. No, that's not the finished product in the picture! The hairdresser curled our hair before she actually fixed it up.

It's a happy painting.

This is for all of you who voted for the Hawaii pic ;) If you'd like to see this masterpiece in the flesh - or rather "in the chalk" - it will be on display at the Duncan Art Guild's Miniature Show along with the rest of the community's masterpieces.

Shooting Stars Soccer Team

The Flying Dutchman asked me if I would come take pics of the little soccer team that he coaches. Me, "Yeah, sure." After I got there, I realized that everyone was expecting a real photographer! And here I am with my little Rebel that I haven't quite figured out how to work, and it's getting dark - fast! I started to feel overwhelmed, and I whined and complained just like a true prim-madonna about the conditions I was being forced to work with. Those boys were torqued too! It was a feat just to get them standing still and all looking at the camera long enough to snap a shot. At one point, the Dutchman just let them run wild for a little while to expound some energy. I tried to snap shots, but of course they were all blurry. I yelled at them not to move, and in the top picture you can see how those little hams froze. They stood frozen like that for quite a while until the whole pile lost it's balance and crumbled to the ground.

Pictures for Paintings

Well, I signed up to enter a painting in this year's art show. But, I don't have a painting to enter. I believe the artwork is due sometime next week, so I figured I'd get started on it. (Thanks, Mom, for reminding me.) Last night I dug through all my pictures trying to find something to inspire me. I've narrowed it down to the following. I have a pretty good idea as to which one I'm going to do (I really just felt like posting something), but if any of you have an opinion feel free to give it.
This is going to be a 8 X 10 pastel. Also understand that artistic license will be taken with these photos - for example the roof top painting would have pinker clouds and fewer antenna rods.

Vote for Me!

Yesterday morning, Dad and I carpooled to Velma to cast our vote. I was excited about voting! As we drove into town, I looked out my window and the town looked like it would on any other day. But this was Election Day! There should be banners, a band, a parade, and free food - we should be celebrating our right to vote and our country's new administration. On the radio, one reporter said, "which ever candidate wins, this is a day for the history books." Just seems like this historical day should be recorded with a little more fanfare. So next election...party at my house!!!
